Our Ministry
Mission aviation exists to provide logistical support for God's workers around the world where the local infrastructure hinders traditional transportation. We know that God has called all Believers to be part of the body; some are hands, some are feet, some are ears and some, like us, are wings.
Our hope is to serve God alongside New Tribes Mission in their aviation division.
Our hope is to serve God alongside New Tribes Mission in their aviation division.
We are currently serving with Compass Aviation Ministries, or CAM, an organization whose goal is to assist candidates for mission aviation in building flight time and maintenance experience so they are able to join a mission aviation agency and get on the field. For example, New Tribes Mission (with whom we are intending to serve overseas), requires that missionary aviators have a minimum of 300 PIC (pilot in command) flight hours and one year of maintenance experience in addition to a commercial pilot's license and an A&P mechanic's license.
When we came to CAM in Shelby, NC, Jamin had his A&P from LeTourneau University as well as his private and instrument ratings and only 85 hours pilot in command. In the time we have been here, he has gained ample experience in the maintenance shop and has had further training toward his commercial license. He has also been given the opportunity to raise his total PIC flight time to over 300 hours at virtually no cost to us. This is a tremendous blessing, considering one hour of flight time costs about $150 in the real world. Multiply that by 215 and it comes out to a phenomenal cost that the Lord has spared us through CAM.
We are so excited about what the Lord is doing through Compass for us and others who feel called to mission aviation.
Please check out their website for more information regarding their ministry.
